KPKP Agency Implements Health Protocols at Animal Slaughterhouses

Jakarta Maritime, Agriculture and Food Security (KPKP) Agency implements COVID-19 health protocols in animal slaughterhouses (RPH) that are still being operated to support the availability of safe food consumption.

Jakarta KPKP Agency Head Darjamuni disclosed the officer at RPH will make sure everyone who enters wears a face mask, checks body temperature, washing hands, maintains physical distancing and does not smoke.

"Those who violate the rules are expressly prohibited from entering the RPH area," he expressed, Tuesday (5/12).

He explains the RPH officers have implemented health examination on 2.6 million slaughtered poultry at slaughterhouses in April to May 10.

"We also do the same thing on 4,365 cows, 749 goats and 7,400 pigs," he explained.

Based on the results of animal health examination, all animals were healthy and safe for consumption by the community.

"We ensure that the entire process is in accordance with the procedures and hygienic," he stated.
